Localized seafood in Texas can be hard to come by, even as you get closer to the water in Houston, and while it might get the job done, let's face it, Red Lobster leaves a little something to be desired in the ambiance factor. Goode Company Seafood, however, hits the mark on several fronts by delivering gulf coast fare in a casual environment.

As one would expect, Goode adds a

Texas spin to the menu. Choose from homemade Shrimp Tamales garnished with a salsa Campeche, or an assortment of Mexican seafood cocktails. Houston's melting pot of cultures also is reflected with their shrimp Creole pie and crab gumbo. Sides are a tad on the heart-stopping end of things, ranging from fried green tomatoes, onion rings and hush puppies, but balance it out with a sliced avocado poboy on toasted French bread with garlic butter. So the next time you are hungering for a bit of the sea on your way home to your apartment, give the restaurant a shot, it's bound to be Goode!
