Houston Community College offers terminal degrees and certificates in more the 70 fields of work and students can also take academic courses that will transfer to four-year institutions. HCC features five Academic Disciplines for students to choose from such as: Fine Arts and Humanities, Adult Basic Education, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Math and Natural Sciences and Developmental Studies. To add to their academic disciplines HCC also offers many Career and Technical Education Programs such as: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources, Health & Medical Sciences, Architecture & Construction, Arts, AV Technology & Communications and Communication & Media Arts just to name a few.
For the 2008-2009 school year in-district students will pay $672 a semester for 12 school hours with out-of-district students paying $1,320 a semester for the same. Houston Community College does not provide housing, but with campus sites all over the city of Houston students have a wide array of options when it comes to finding the right apartment that will suit them. Students of HCC enjoy the personal freedom and private space when living in their own apartment.
